I’m using the CDS-9060 with a PLC I call into the unit from a landline modem. I want to know if the CDS-9060 Cellular modem has AT-Commands that can be used to LOG onto the internet in TCP or UDP mode "Packet Data"? I’m wanting to dial into a IP address to talk the the PLC\RTU\Remote Computer\DTE device.

Thanks in advance,

Yes all CDS modems can use an AT command to log onto the internet in TCP or UDP mode by using AT-Commands.

These commands work when the modem is standard mode waiting for an inbound circuit switch call.

The following commands will log you onto to the 1x system.

AT+TCP=166.166.166.139,PORT,TIME you will see a connect message – if your using Modem Emulation.

CONNECT  IP = 166.139.99.93

Example:  AT+TCP=166.139.89.79,2000,5    Client mode\unit connecting first"

Example:  AT+TCP=166.139.89.79,L2000,5   "Server mode\Listen in mode"

L = Server mode \ listen mode   “No L remote is in Client mode”

2000 = Port

5 = stay log on for 5 minutes  “Time refresh after every packet”

Make sure you have your User name and password program in 1x setup menu

“Alarm Setup”

  J - PPP Connect Number    :  #777

  K - PPP User Name         :  8053399739@vzw3g.com

  L - PPP Password          :  vzw

  M - TCP/UDP mode,addr,port:  TCP/UDP mode OFF    “Do not fill this in”

  N - TCP/UDP CD timeout    :  CD always ON

  O - Local (fixed) IP      :  166.139.99.93

  P - Refresh time,port     :  TCP/UDP Refresh OFF

VirtualComm IP Manager. This innovative software can communicate seamlessly with old communications software and divert data out of a virtual serial port rather than through the traditional physical serial port. This virtual serial port emulates the physical communication port and provides a digital gateway to the internet—all without requiring any modification to the existing software codes or other equipment. The VirtualComm IP Manager works as a circuit-switched call, but is actually internet based.
